In addition to honoring fans with a cheaper version of her new album, The Fame Monster, Lady Gaga is also giving her followers a chance to listen to her new album on MTV's The Leak, a week before it hits stores.
The album is available in three general formats: the eight new songs as a stand-alone album (The Fame Monster), as well as in a deluxe edition packaged with her debut LP, and a super-deluxe package with all kinds of goodies. The album's lead single, "Bad Romance," has been out for a few weeks and has an eye-popping video — and of course Gaga appears in Beyoncé's "Video Phone" clip (not to be confused with "Telephone," the Beyoncé/Gaga collaboration on The Fame Monster), which premiered on MTV.com last night.
Gaga talked about the direction of the new album recently. "I spent a lot of nights in Eastern Europe, and this album is a pop experimentation with industrial/Goth beats, '90s dance melodies, an obsession with the lyrical genius of '80s melancholic pop and the runway," she said.
But the singer credits her inspiration as coming not only from her travels around the world, but the fans that have supported her."I love my fans so much, and more than anything, I discovered lots of things about myself that I didn't know before through my fans." she said in a recent interview with MTV News.
The singer's appreciation for her fans led her to demand that the eight new songs on The Fame Monster be available as an inexpensive stand-alone album, rather than packaged exclusively with her debut LP, as was originally planned.
